Launch of the Thailand Import Export Guide

Bangkok – The European Association for Business and Commerce (EABC) hosted the launch event for its Thailand Import Export Guide at the Pullman Bangkok Hotel G on Thursday, 26 November 2015. The main objective of this guidebook is to enhance the trade and investment between Thailand and the European Union (EU). The guide is intended to assist business owners, managers and entrepreneurs to better understand the regulations and processes concerning the import and the export of products, in and out of the Kingdom of Thailand.
Mr. Peter Bjork, Executive Director of EABC, presented the overview of the export and import guide and briefly explained the regulations governing the import and export of the goods, to and from Thailand.
The EABC also invited Mr. Chaiyut Kumkun, Director of Suvarnabhumi Airport Passenger Control Customs Bureau, as a guest speaker on Customs and Trade Facilitation focusing on “Thailand as a regional hub and a trading nation”. Mr. Chaiyut shared his views that there are four keywords for facilitating the customs which are Transparency, Consistency, Accountability, Interconnectivity and Integrity and Dynamics.
Moreover, the Thai Government is now working on the Trade Facilitation Agreement (TFA) and the Implementation of the ASEAN Customs Transit System (ACTs). It is anticipated to be implemented during 2016 as an agreement under WTO. To download the presentation by Mr. Chaiyut Kumkun, please click here.
